A vibrant and fruit-forward natural coffee from Guji. This Alaka lot opens with juicy raspberry and sweet mandarin, rounded out by notes of stewed berries and rich dark chocolate. A gentle floral aroma carries through the finish, giving the cup both depth and lift.
Roasted light to highlight clarity and character, this coffee is expressive yet balanced — perfect for slow mornings and thoughtful brews.
Alaka
Alaka is a small coffee-producing area located in the highlands of Guji, a region celebrated for its distinct, fruit-driven coffees. Grown at elevations above 2,000 metres, this coffee benefits from cool temperatures, mineral-rich red soil, and slow cherry maturation — resulting in a dense, flavour-packed bean.
The natural process involves drying the whole cherry on raised beds under the sun, allowing sugars and fruit complexity to fully develop in the cup.
About Guji
Guji coffees, especially naturals, are known for:
-
Red berry intensity (like raspberry and strawberry)
-
Citrus sweetness (like mandarin or blood orange)
-
Floral aromatics (like jasmine or rose)
-
Balanced body with fruit-laced complexity
Alaka is a standout example — clean, sweet, and full of personality.
